Throwing Leaves (S&D)

by Cindy Chang

I was running a workshop with one of my friends and each of us had to design a game to play. Most of what had been done in the past had been computer games of a very similar sort, so when it was my turn I knew I wanted to do something different.

My game started out as a computer game but as I was showing it to my friends, we actually entered into the game. There was a very large room, filled with coffee beans on the ground, and the objective was to throw a coffee bean onto another one that was flashing green at the time. The flashing green coffee beans would be all over the room and would alternate periods of lighting.

Then, for some reason, the game morphed into a tag-like game involving lots of colorful autumn leaves on the ground. Instead of throwing a bean onto another bean, we were to throw leaves onto a person in order to "tag" them. Then that person would turn into a leaf! All these person-turned-leaves would float up and suspend over the game going on underneath.

I just wanted to share this short dream because it was really pretty. Sunlight was streaking into the room where we held the game, and all these colorful leaves were floating around and on the ground. Then, at the end of the game, the last person standing would raise their hands up and all the leaves on the ground would swirl upward. When they came back down, those that were humans would turn back into the people they were.

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough. It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
