Emergency Helicopter (S&D)

by Garrett Schaner
(Stanford, California)

A friend and I were running on this super hilly path with crazy floating buildings and trees off to the side and a faint siren going off in the background. We came upon a dead deer laying in the middle of the path. I said, "Let's go tell Animal Control about it. There's a center right up the hill." My friend thought it would be a better workout if we carried it up the hill. I agreed, although the hill was just about completely vertical and a mile high.

The Animal Control Center workers were frantically getting into a helicoptor, saying that there was a serious emergency and that they would take care of the deer when they got back. So off we went back up the trail until we came upon a military guy also getting into a helicoptor. We tried to ask him what was going on, but all he said was, "This is serious!" and started to take off. My friend jumped in the helicoptor out of nowhere as it lifted, so I had to follow. The guy freaked out, telling us we couldn't come. He kept yelling as we lifted off the ground but he didn't land it and we just held on.

As we were flying over the city, the engines went out. I got this sick feeling in my stomach and said to my friend, "It's been real." Then I started praying in my head and thinking this is really it, while at the same time screaming as we helplessly spun to the ground.

A split second before we crashed into the ground I woke up sweating with my heart beating rapidly; relieved it was only a dream.

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough. It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
